Description : The title of this video is borrowed from a well known song in Czechoslovakia in the 1980s, performed by the a popular Slovak “national” singer and hero Karol Duchon. The lyrics not only perfectly represent the current social-political situation in Slovakia, but could generally be considered as being symptomatic of the 20 years of transition. In combination with known images/videos from the history of western popular culture the artist re-contextualizes their meaning, putting them in a current social and political context and thus comments on the changes in Eastern Europe between 1989-2009.
