Egon Bunne was born in Ahlen Westphalia. From 1974 to 1978, lived with the rock band Ton Steine Scherben in Berlin and North Frisia. He studied at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin from 1982 to 1986. Egon Bunne has worked together with Hellmuth Costard, Gabor Body and David Larcher, and has gained several awards, including first prize in the Videonale Bonn in 1986 for IRONLAND and the >Egon-Erwin-Kisch< Award by the International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animation Film for ALLES WANDELT SICH in 1990. In 1992, Bunne became studio manager at Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, and moved to the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne as an artistic/scientific assistant in 1996. He has been a professor of Electronic Image on the Time-Based Media degree programme at Mainz University of Applied Sciences since 2002. Over the last decades, Egon Bunne has realized projects for German television, which he views as art in the public domain or as architectural sculpture.
